Job Description :

We currently have openings for Operational Excellence Managers to join the Harris Business Excellence team. The Harris Business Excellence (HBX) team deploys strategy by focusing on continuous improvement, quality, business breakthroughs, kaizen methodology, and team development within our business units. We strive for operational excellence across all functional areas and processes by deploying Lean tools and Six Sigma principles. This position plays an active role in shaping and influencing the strategy and deployment of HBX. Emphasis is on leadership, continuous improvement skills and culture building that will lead to break-through and self–sustaining capabilities at domestic and international locations. The successful candidates will:

  • Partner and develop deep working relationships with segment and functional deployment champions to identify opportunities and influence HBX improvement initiatives, business processes, waste reduction, training and the culture of continuous improvement.

  • Partner with segment Quality leaders to identify, develop and champion the implementation of Harris-wide strategic Quality initiatives

  • Drive change and implement global processes by interfacing at all levels of the organization and building support both vertically and horizontally.

  • Identify and share best practices across all Harris locations.

  • Develop and maintain HBX tools, templates, standards and processes and drive internal adoption through effective change management.

  • Coach and mentor HBX Managers and leaders and conduct HBX related training for departments and functions on a “just in time” basis for HBX Core tools and techniques, such as Process Mapping or Root Cause Analysis.

  • Support and/or lead Kaizen initiatives, contribute to project teams, and identify and prioritize improvement opportunities at CHQ and throughout the company when requested.

  • Travel approximately 20%.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field and a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and Project Management, methods.

  • Demonstrate superior organizational abilities and presentation skills.

  • Strong facilitation, negotiation, and team building skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong Analytical skills with the ability to build a business case, analyze the results and effectively communicate the status/outcome.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint.

  • Project management experience.

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.

  • Proficiency in statistical software such as Minitab or Statgraphics.
