Job Description:

Enterprise Application Developer for the Software Design Verification (SDV) team in the Harris Communications Systems Division. As a member of the SDV organization, the position is a staff-level engineering assignment.

  • Develop C#-based software to operate and test systems of Harris products over remote interfaces.

  • Participate in the design process for new development of testing software and support applications.

  • Triage software failures; review and debug code.

  • Report defects and participate in defect review and analysis.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering and minimum 2 years of software engineering experience to include:

  • Experience with object-oriented programming concepts and languages.

  • C# (preferred), Java, C++, or Python. On-the-job training in C# available.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Must demonstrate the ability to make solid technical contributions on a team serving multiple groups within the Division, often subject to numerous and changing priorities.

  • In addition, the position requires establishing close working relationships with product development engineers to suggest and support defect resolutions. A qualified candidate must demonstrate strong written and verbal communications, be a self-starter, and demonstrate leadership capabilities.

  • Experience with Jenkins or Bamboo a plus.

  • Experience in network programming: sockets, networking protocols, packet debugging.

  • Experience with networking concepts or network administration: routing and routing protocols, switching, subnetworks, SNMP.

  • Understanding of concurrent computing and related concepts.

  • Unit Testing and Integration Testing skills.

  • Familiarity with tool such as Visual Studio, SVN or Git version control, Wireshark.

  • Unix-like operating systems such as Linux, FreeBSD, or Solaris.

  • Experience with RF hardware and radio communications equipment; background in Military communications (operation and/or installation) an extra bonus.

  • DoD security clearance - secret or higher.
