This position will be responsible for providing Radar Signal Processing support to customer-funded programs and internal research efforts within our Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) business unit of Harris Corporation. This position will support systems engineering and analysis tasks as part of a larger team dedicated to the customer mission. This position will be responsible for activities such as improving existing processing algorithms to increase throughput, accuracy and effectiveness, supporting development teams with implementation of demonstration technologies, advancement and implementation of known concepts, development of new technical solutions, definition and refinement of larger system level concepts for automated intelligence, and evaluation and recommendations of architecture and process improvements.
Our intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) solutions serve a broad array of government, civil and commercial customers by enhancing information superiority, contributing to our national security and providing actionable data for the protection of property and human life. We specialize in high-reliability airborne and space-based remote sensing payloads that offer active and motion imaging and data processing, exploitation and dissemination. We also provide solutions that map and monitor the earth for a variety of commercial and governmental users.
Additional responsibilities include:
System architecture process including requirements generation, system requirements/design reviews, preliminary design, peer reviews, detailed design, test plan generation, and integration and test.
Support customer proposals for complex architectures (Basis of Estimates (BOEs), Cost Volumes, and Technical Volumes).
Capable of leading teams of designers to realize architectures in collaboration with other disciplines (Digital, RF, Mechanical, Software, I&T, Manufacturing, etc).
Experience with requirements derivation and tracking using DOORs (or equivalent) including requirements verification traceability matrix (RVTM).
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
TS/SCI security clearance is required
Preferred Additional Skills:
10 years of experience with Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) systems
Experience with MATLAB and/or C++ Experience with SAR processing and algorithms
Experience with existing SAR processing systems and standards and a background with IFSAR, ISAR, Image Registration and optimal estimation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a technical information environment.
Ability to work with minimal management oversight
Ability to coordinate, organize and perform as a cooperative thought leader.
