Description:

Manages subordinate cybersecurity professionals and Asset Management technicians. Works with Director of Cybersecurity Operations and other Sr. leadership to ensures the ISSO team remains fully staffed and forward deployed in accredited enclaves. Mentor and develop team members, assisting in their career planning. Recommend department training needs and security tools acquisition and or training per the annual operating plan up through the Operations Support Management Team.

Works with Program Management teams across the accredited enclaves in the Proprietary Business Unit to identify proposed systems and programs. Works with the Cybersecurity RMF team early in the process to assure adequate cybersecurity scope is baked into the proposal.

Works with the Program and Corp IT/SA functions to ensure security auditing tools are working as designed and optimized to present actionable alerts and information for the ISSOs conducting audit reviews. Works with Program/Industrial Security and CPSOs to prepare, participate in, and remediate Customer inspection activities or findings. Builds strong alliances with these functional teams to ensure the overall success of the CyberSecurity Programs.

Performs ISSM duties, directing operational cybersecurity activities of local and remote cybersecurity professionals, and Asset Management technicians. Influences and facilitates the implementation of a common Risk Management Framework (RMF) baseline across all customer bases.

Job Duties:

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring subordinates author and maintain Assessment & Authorization (A&A) documentation of Assigned systems

  • Oversees and coordinates security control assessments and Continuous Monitoring Plans at the facility

  • Chairs/co-chairs the facility’s Change Control Board (CCB)

  • Work with IT and system administration organizations to develop device and system hardening guides following DISA and NIST guidelines

  • Responsible for customer interface in the tracking and resolution of POA&Ms

  • Ensures all systems are rigorously monitored for anomalous activity

  • Manage the spillage response process for their program areas of responsibility

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Cybersecurity or a related discipline from an accredited college is preferred)

  • CISSP or ability to obtain CISSP certification within 12 months of hire

  • Active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI

  • Minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience to include 3+ years’ experience with networking equipment; 3+ years’ experience interpreting vulnerability scanning results (preferably Nessus or Tenable Security Center); 5+ years’ experience reviewing workstation, server, firewall, & IPS logs; 3+ years’ experience with SIEM or UBA tools

  • Experience as an ISSM supervising or managing cybersecurity on classified systems under multiple agencies’ JSIG, NISPOM Ch8, ICD 503, and/or NIST 800-53 implementations

  • Experience developing, managing, and providing evidence to close POA&Ms associated with the A&A and project management processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent time management and task prioritization skills. Exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation skills, customer relationship building skills, analytical skills and ability to lead/mentor teammates. High level of personal motivation and initiative to learn and acquire new skills.

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows and Server operating systems

  • Other DoDI 8570.01 IAM III certifications

  • Experience with Linux is a plus

  • Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities

  • Able to socialize ideas, make recommendations, and gain team consensus
