This position will be responsible for providing Information Systems Security Engineering support to customer-funded programs and internal research efforts within our Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) business unit of Harris Corporation.
Our intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) solutions serve a broad array of government, civil and commercial customers by enhancing information superiority, contributing to our national security and providing actionable data for the protection of property and human life. We specialize in high-reliability airborne and space-based remote sensing payloads that offer active and motion imaging and data processing, exploitation and dissemination. We also provide solutions that map and monitor the earth for a variety of commercial and governmental users.
The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) will perform the following:
Implement Information Assurance (IA) processes, provide implementation guidance, and develop documentation throughout the Risk Management Framework (RMF) life-cycle to obtain system accreditation.
Conduct certification testing and reporting in accordance with the RMF and NIST 800-53; identify deficiencies (POA&M) and provides recommendations for solutions.
Maintain system asset records (in Xacta or similar system) to include development of system security controls.
Lead system hardening activities to be compliant with DISA Security and Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
Conduct vulnerability scanning and remediation.
Apply IA requirements to an existing system based on Customer IA policies and procedures.
Define, implement, and sustain continuous IA monitoring for accredited systems.
Develop System Security Plans (SSP) and other required system plans, e.g., Continuous Monitoring Plan (CMP), Contingency Plan (CP), Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) (as required) and Incident Response Plan (IRP).
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience or a Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance
3+ years experience with configurations, hardening and vulnerability assessment of Network products such as Routers, Switches and Firewalls (CISCO, Juniper etc).
Familiar with Linux, Enterprise Security Services, Nessus, and SCAP tools.
Experience managing complex security architectures consisting of multiple trust levels.
Ability to communicate technical terms and concepts to non-technical audiences.
Experience serving as program SME with respect to IA issues.
Experience balancing risk with business needs to offer customers and management optimal security solutions.
Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities.
The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations and gather team consensus to move forward.
Exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills as well as strong ability to lead and mentor teammates.
