Job Description:

The Harris Corp Metrology Department is looking for individuals who have proven measurement skills using large scale coordinate measurement methods primarily in laser trackers. Other proficiencies of value are photogrammetry, Laser Radar and measurement Arms. Candidates should be proficient in Spatial Analyzer with practical GD&T knowledge and basic CAD modeling skills.

  • Production setup shop aids, align flight hardware per program drawings or CAD model.

  • Inspection support for in-process and end item deliverables.

  • Tooling setup per tool drawing or CAD model.

  • May provide preliminary analyses of data or documentation where dimensional consistency and accuracy are required.

  • Develop and maintain a variety of documentation and reports as required.

  • May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.

  • Identify, troubleshoot and solve tooling problems and aid in manufacturing, inspection and engineering issues.

  • Analyze data and provide reports in a variety of formats.


  • 4+ years overall experience as a technician in the manufacturing/metrology field.

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience operating Metrology equipment (laser tracker, arm, etc).

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • 4 years' experience with tooling setup and/or use.

  • Proficient with Spatial Analyzer software.

  • Basic knowledge of CAD software.

  • Experienced with Microsoft Excel.

  • Ability to read drawings / blue prints and interpret GD&T.

  • Availability to work Overtime and weekends as needed.

  • Physical abilities: Able to work on feet for extended periods of time. Ability to manipulate equipment weighing up to 50lbs. Ability to climb ladders, crawl, and sometimes access challenging locations. Familiarity with working around delicate, spaceflight hardware an advantage.

  • Self-motivated, individual with demonstrated history of working with minimal supervision.

  • Certifications will be weighted favorably. Expected to maintain a productive and safe working environment in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
