Harris Corporation Space and Intelligence Systems has an opening for a Manager, Configuration Management to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The individual will work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and a collaborative team setting.

Essential Functions:

This position requires experience in conducting all aspects of managing a team of 24 configuration (CM) and documentation management (DM) personnel. Position requires individual with previous experience in DoD acquisition life-cycle management, configuration baseline management and change control. This position requires a thorough knowledge of hardware and software CM functions, documentation technical editing requirements, and delivery processes to ensure on-time deliverables to the Government. Candidate will be leading a team of 14 CMs and 10 DMs to comply with existing processes and CM and DM standards. Required to work in a challenging and dynamic environment with Senior management, Project Management, Engineering, Logistics, Drafting and other functional departments to ensure deliverables meet project and contract milestones. This position requires good verbal and written communication skills to brief and interface with project teams, management, and Government.


  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior related experience OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.

  • An active DoD Secret Security Clearance

  • Management and leadership knowledge

  • Comprehensive knowledge and skills for performing configuration management

  • Comprehensive knowledge and skills for performing documentation management

  • Experience with planning for future personnel resource requirements and strategic plans

  • Experience with DoD Acquisition lifecycle processes and change control methods

  • Experience in CMM / CMMI, ISO 9001 process environment

  • CMII certification or knowledge

  • Experience with making process improvements and implementing lean processes

  • Experience in problem solving, setting goals, and building proactive teams

  • Experience working with Government customers to build better relationships

  • Experience with hiring, firing and promoting personnel

  • Experience with leading, mentoring, and coaching direct reports

Security Clearance:

This position requires the candidate to already possess an active DoD Secret security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
