Harris Corporation Space and Intelligence Systems has an opening for a Sr. Systems Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO. The individual will work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and a collaborative team setting.

Essential Functions:

  • Primary emphasis on intermediary functions for physical capture, review, and redline CAD technical documentation of equipment and building floor plan layouts, floor space allocation, building management systems, subsystem cabling and circuit characteristics, power systems, connection diagrams, rack elevations, and facility drawings for various CONUS and OCONUS customer site locations

  • Conducts all on-site building measurements and floor grid alignments

  • Generates, collects, redlines, incorporates, and produces all CAD sections of the document

  • Coordinates and produces all drawing softcopies and hardcopies of operations center Plant-In-Place subsystems CAD documentation

  • Provide support for Technical Review Board meetings

  • Support non-CAD reviews, development, creation, and redline of plant-inplace documentation of tables, specifications, characteristics, schedules, diagrams, rack elevations, and other technical data elements.

  • Incorporates final drawing redlines and plots hardcopies for final document assembly

  • Periodic travel to support Plant-In-Place activities

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years with a Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering field, Information Technology, or Computer Science or equivalent

  • Active Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Security + or DoD 8570.01 equivalent certification a plus

  • Experience in wideband telecommunications and operation center architecture design

  • Strong background in SATCOM operation and regional support centers, multifaceted CAD engineering technical drawings, building management systems, network and signal subsystem rack and interconnection CAD technical documentation requirements.

  • Broad knowledge of wideband SATCOM and communications control systems and operation data centers is desired

  • Knowledge of appropriate DoD hardware installation and configuration procedures preferred

  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently or as a team member and able to follow guidance from associated project and engineering lead

  • Candidate must have strong written and oral communications skills.

  • High-level working skills of computer-aided design and AutoCAD a plus
