Harris Corporation Space and Intelligence Systems has an opening for a Senior Specialist, Software Engineering to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Clifton, New Jersey . The individual will work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and a collaborative team setting.
Responsible for software life cycle; including, software coding, integration, debugging, and full documentation
Provide engineering and engineering support to the Space and Intelligence Systems Division's engineering business unit under technical direction
Provide support, research, evaluation and development for highly complex and technical space-based aerospace products
Use the application of engineering standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques
Design, develop, test and verify complex engineering tasks in software, systems, and/or hardware components
Design and develop engineering assignments related to products and systems; including, new products or updates to existing products
Act as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders
Bachelor’s Degree and 6+ years of software engineering and development experience, OR Master’s Degree and 4+ years of software engineering and development experience, OR PhD and 0+ years of software engineering and development experience
Experience with software development using C++/C#
An active DoD Secret security clearance
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering
Experience with software design using XML, UML and Object Oriented Analysis and Object Oriented Design
Knowledge of model based development
Complete lifecycle software development experience
Experience with Flight Software
Experience with C++ running on Green Hills Integrity
Knowledge of Software Configuration Management (SWCM) such as SVN, Clear case
Knowledge of UML Modeling Tools
Knowledge of requirement tools such as DOORs
Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
